Joseph Gerard (Jerry) Watson. December 30,1952 - February 13, 2012 Jerry was born in Quincy, MA where he lived with his parents, Josephine Marie Cambria Watson and Joseph Loring Watson both of whom predeceased him, his father on June 1, 2000 and his mother on December, 23, 2011. Jerry moved to Pembroke MA with his parents in the early '60's where he lived for more than 40 years before moving, to a group home first in Pembroke and later in Carver, MA. he attended St Colletta's School (later Cardinal Cushing School for Exceptional children) in Hanover MA for many years before graduating from Silver Lake Regional High School. Jerry was a communicant at St. Thecla's Catholic Church in Pembroke MA. Jerry, along with his parents, was active in the community and did volunteer work including working on the annual art show in Pembroke. Jerry worked for many years at Shaw's where he was always a friendly face and ready with a witty remark. He loved music and had an extensive collection of records and cd's. When he was younger he moonlighted as a dj at local dances and loved having a microphone in his hand (a born entertainer). He will be most fondly remembered by many for his rendition of Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison. Jerry was a familiar face and personality to many in the community, especially his friends at CVS, Olivera's restaurant, and the Country Kitchen restaurant. He was a warm and loving person, always pleased to see his many friends and equally pleased to meet new friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed his own jokes as much as his audience did. he loved children and was quick to count his many "nieces" and "nephews", the children of his many cousins. He loved animals and couldn't pass a dog without a gentle pat and a kind word. Jerry was loved by many and brought a smile to the faces of his friends with his enthusiastic and warm greetings. He was a kind man with a mischievous and delightful sense of humor. He was the light of his parents' lives and a day never passed that Jerry didn't tell his parents many times over that he loved them. When he left his mother's home and became a part of the group homes he was a real addition to the homes. He brought his warmth and generosity and loving nature to each of the homes and made a difference in the lives of the other residents and the staff. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. It was at his home in Carver MA that Jerry quietly went to join his beloved parents. Jerry died peacefully surrounded by his many friends. He was fortunate to have found such a loving home, where he was appreciated and truly loved by those who helped in his care. Although Jerry was an only child he was like a brother to many of his cousins and enjoyed a close and loving relationship with his aunts and uncles. he is survived by several aunts and many cousins A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St Thecla's Roman Catholic Church in Pembroke on Friday, February 24th at 11:00 AM.
