Robert Gardiner Wilson, III ("Bo"), 79, currently of Marshfield, formerly of Duxbury, died suddenly on Friday, February 3, 2012.
Born, Nov. 26, 1933 to late Hon. Robert Gardiner Wilson, Jr., and Florence R. Wilson of Wellesley Hills, survived by his sister Ruth W. Cann of Annapolis, Diana Frazier of Taunton, and Mary Wilson of Amesbury.
Graduated from Kimball Union Academy, and Middlebury College, Class of 1955.
Formerly married to the Hon. Sara Holmes Wilson and to the late Robin Frey Wilson.
Prior to Graduation from Suffolk Law School in 1960, he worked as a Probation Officer in the Dorchester District Court. He started his own private practice in Boston in 1961, which he continued until his recent death. He took particular interest in sports, both as a participant and later as a coach and supporter of youth sports. In 1970, he was a co-founder of Duxbury Youth Football. He was also active in Masonic and Shrine organizations, being a Past Master of Joseph Webb Lodge, a Past Commander of Boston Commandary No. 2, and a Past Potentate of the Alleppo Temple. He served for many years on the Board of Governors of the Shriners Burns Institute, Boston.
He is survived by his daughters, Constance Enniss of Duxbury, Sara Marshall of Littleton, NH, and his sons, Robert Gardiner Wilson, IV, of Chelsea, and John C. Wilson of Boston.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Pilgrim Congregational Church, 404 Washington Street, Duxbury.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Duxbury Gridiron Club, P.O. Box 2586, Duxbury MA 02331, an organization which supports Duxbury High School Football.
