Obituary of Ellen D. Savage

Ellen D. Savage, 64, of Duxbury, passed away December 8, 2011. Ms. Savage was born in Bay Shore, New York, graduated from the Hewlett School in Islip, NY, Bay Shore High School and attended Nursing school at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan, NY. Starting her career in the travel business, Ellen moved into sales and marketing with resorts and hotels including Sea Pines Plantation in Hilton Head, SC, Omni International Hotels, The Four Seasons and the Ritz Carlton in Washington, DC. Her career included Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, NY, Spring Island, SC, Balsam Mountain Preserve in Ashville, NC, Brenton Woods Resort in New Hampshire and most recently Proprietors Green in Marshfield, MA. Ms. Savage leaves her brothers, Joseph F. Savage, III of Litchfield, CT, Peter C. Savage and his wife, Nancy of Duxbury, and her sister, the late Anne D. Savage. She leaves 13 nieces and nephews and 12 grand nieces and nephews. There will be a Memorial Service at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 410 Washington Street, Duxbury, on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445 or Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
