Helen was a great friend to my mother-in-law, Mary Rushton and we enjoyed her and Mac at our dining room table for special holidays. I loved her stories and understand she was a "spitfire" in her day. I learned that she was married in our back yard at 227 Main Street and that she was a wonderful nurse.
Our children enjoyed many winter hats knitted by Helen. I greatly appreciated her service to our country as an Army flight nurse and loved hearing her stories of how she loved those wouinded soldiers from one side of the ocean to the next. She loved her faith, her rosary and most of all her beloved husband, Mac.
Thank you to my dear husband, John, for your integrity in making sure she had the great care at Newfield House. Thank you, Lauren and to her good friend,, Roz. We are all so glad she went home for Christmas. God Bless you, Helen.

When I read Mrs. Peterson had passed away, I could almost feel her loving arms around this little girl who was often needed extra hugs. She was not only a "HERO", in the eyes of the United States, she was also my "HERO". One will never know what a difference this woman made in my life.
To the family, I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing her with all of us.
