Robert Peter Webb, 83, of Kingston, MA, formerly of Squantum, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 14, 2011. He was born on March 16, 1928, in Everett, MA, and raised in Chelsea, MA and Antigonish, Canada.
He began working at the age of 14 as a logger and a horse trainer in Nova Scotia. He proudly returned to serve in the U.S. Army, 724th TROB from 1950-1952.
Robert married Shirley Blake in 1952 and worked as a Master steam fitter for Scoffield Campbell. He also worked as a mechanic for Eugene Rothmund's and Agar Supply. Robert was a partner in Frank's Liquors and ShiAn Real Estate Corp. until his retirement in 1986.
Robert will be lovingly remembered by his wife Shirley Blake Webb and their six children: Corrine and Steve Goulart of Snow Camp, North Carolina, Jane Anderson and her late husband Joseph of Kingston, MA, Robert and Darlene Webb of Margate, Florida, Pat and Chuck Killeen of Plympton, MA, Peter and Betty Webb of Woburn, MA and John and Janice Webb of Kingston, MA and by his 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and Leo Webb and sisters, Lorraine Pineau, Marie Corkum and Jean MacPhearson.
Relatives and friends are invited on Monday, December 19, 2011 to the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett Street, Pembroke, MA, from 9:00-10:00 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at Saint Joseph's Church, 272 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, MA, at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:45 PM.
