Colin (Coley) P. Powers, of Carver, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 peacefully at his home with his family by his side. He bravely endured a long illness. He was born March 3, 1944 in Boston, MA and spent much of his life living on the South Shore. He was an Air Force (SAC) Veteran and served his country proudly. He joined the Boston Carpenters Union (local #218) in 1968 and retired in 1999. Enjoying a long happy marriage with his wife Patricia (Fernandez) Powers, he is survived by his children, Coley Jr. and his wife Jean of Martha's Vineyard, Tammy and her husband Michael (Hughes) of Carver and Julianne of Maine, and one grandchild, Sam (Hughes), as well as many other family and friends. He spent much of his leisure time fishing and arrowhead hunting on Martha's Vineyard with his son and island friends. A graveside service will be held on Friday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. at the Lakenham Cemetery, Forest Street, Carver. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the South Shore,100 Baystate Drive, Braintree, MA 02185.
