Obituary

On 12 November 2023, Susan Wild Aigler, beloved wife of Kevin Rosenhoover, and devoted mother of Amanda, passed away.  Born to David and Wenonah Aigler, Susan graduated from Hillsdale College with a Bachelor of Education degree.  After several years of international travel with the MA Port Authority, she settled in Boston as the VP of Marketing and Sales for Executive Office Suites, that is where she met Kevin, her husband of 39 years.

Susan was an extremely creative, imaginative, generous, and passionate woman. She applied her time and talents to help with school projects, making sure everyone had special snacks at sporting events, planning extravagant birthday parties, and creating uniquely designed sets for the Duxbury Yacht Club Summer Show.  A lover of flowers, gardening, and landscaping, Susan partnered with her dear friend Coco to arrange exquisite centerpieces for weddings, while creating beautiful landscapes at her homes in Duxbury.

Susan’s eye for everything fabulous extended to fashion.  Later in life, she led a successful career in retail clothing for both children and men. This included making sure Amanda was the best dressed girl in town and that Kevin led the trend for men, wearing pink button-down shirts (under initial protest mind you).

Susan’s love for all animals included many black Labradors and cats as pets as well as multiple injured squirrels and baby rabbits (the cats). However, the skunk rescue embodied her care for all God’s creatures. Susan and Amanda found 5 abandoned baby skunks, nursed them at home, and released them to the wild before the scent glands developed – thank God!

A stickler for detail and completing tasks to perfection, she was often heard saying, “it takes just as long to do something wrong as it does to do something right, so do it right the first time”. This was evident in everything she did, from flowers, to bows on packages, and all projects big or small.

Susan was known by those close to her as Zsa Zsa, a name given by her young nephews Ben and Sam.  Of course, she immediately embraced this title, pink boa and all. Zsa Zsa welcomed Amanda’s frequently visiting friends imparting wisdom and laughs, as her girls navigated the world. She adored her grandchildren Bennett and Charles and stimulated their growth through swim lessons, waterfront picnics with French Memories treats, and making sure they knew exactly when the boat would be launched.

Another one of Susan words of wisdom was “timing is everything”.  She passed away at 7 am on Sunday, November 12. True to her word, Susan gracefully stayed with us until after Bennett’s 5th birthday celebration which was held the day prior.  Zsa Zsa left our world peacefully knowing everyone would be okay.

Susan is survived by her husband, Kevin Rosenhoover, daughter Amanda, grandchildren Bennett and Charles, sister Diane Aigler Cook, and brother Robert Aigler. Susan was 72 years old.  Zsa Zsa will live in our memories and visit us with every hydrangea that blooms.

A memorial service will be held at St John’s Episcopal Church, Duxbury MA, Saturday, Dec 2 at 11 am. Donations in memory of Susan can be made to the Standish Humane Society, Memorial, Tribute and Honor Gifts | Standish Humane.
