Obituary of Judith E. Balzarini

Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Judith "Judy" Elizabeth (Everett) Balzarini, 52 of Carver, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 25, 2023 at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich, Massachusetts, after a courageous, 19-month battle with cancer.  Judy was the youngest of six children, born on beautiful Cape Cod on September 28, 1970, to the late John F. and Jane (Daniel) Everett of Osterville.

Judy graduated from Barnstable High School in 1988 and the University of Massachusetts in 1992.  She had a fulfilling career as a Senior Clinical Research Associate, at Fortrea, a life sciences company.  Judy ironically did studies on the same cancer drug that she was given post-diagnosis, which granted her more quality time with her family.

To know Judy was to love her.  Judy was a loyal and true friend, and she remained lifelong friends with her childhood friends aka “Ladies of the 80s”.  Her laughter and “Joie De Vivre” (enjoyment of life) were contagious.  Her warmth made everyone around her feel good, welcome, and at home.  Her life by the ocean truly formed her adventurous spirit, love of the outdoors, yoga, jogging, and walks on the beach with family, friends, and Gronk.  Judy’s caring, selfless nature carried her to adulthood where she spent several years caring for her mother, whom she loved so dearly.  There is no question that her mom and dad were waiting for her with their arms wide open.

Judy was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend.  She loved cheering on her children at sporting events- never missing a single one of her children’s events, dancing and music (Yacht Rock Station), and spending days at the beach, looking at the ocean.  Judy met her loving husband Mike in the late 90s, and although Mike thought she was “out of his league,” they were a match made in Heaven!  They had a love like no other.  Together, they created a beautiful family: Keira, Jack, their cat Peanut, and their lovable dog Gronk.  Judy was the proudest mom, wife, and dog mama there ever was!!  Keira and Jack both look like their beautiful mom.  They are kind, loving, intelligent, and hardworking, which are qualities that Judy and Mike instilled in them.  Watching the kids grow and fulfilling their dreams while seeing their mom’s bright smile on their faces, will bring their dad and everyone comfort.

Judy’s siblings were her best friends and meant the world to her.  To no surprise, they sat by their ‘baby’ sister’s side filling her heart with so much love.  Growing up, they had great role models; their father was a Police Officer, and their mother was a nurse, so it’s no wonder why Judy devoted herself to caring for others.

Judy is survived by her loving husband Michael and their two amazing children Keira and Jack.  She also leaves behind her siblings Cecilia Reoux and husband Joseph of Vashon Island, WA, Edward Everett and wife Laura of Virginia Beach, VA, William Everett of Morisville, NC, and Steven Everett and wife Marina of Marstons Mills, MA.  Judy also leaves behind her mother-in-law Miriam Balzarini of Worcester, MA and sister-in-law Kelley Balzarini of Hanover, MA.  Judy was predeceased by her brother Joseph Everett, father-in-law John Balzarini and brother-in-law John Balzarini. She is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews, Amber Perme and husband Dan, John Everett, Benjamin Reoux, Gabriel Reoux, Ysabel Reoux, Eleanor Everett and husband Gabriel Junquera, Eddie Everett and wife Kylee, Bridget Everett, Mary Everett, Tiana Balzarini, and Tyler Balzarini.

Visiting hours will be held at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St (rt.106) Kingston on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 2-7:00 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Osterville on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 11:00 am.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to the Balzarini College Fund to the following:
