Margaret L. Holmes, 70, of Kingston, passed away on December 27, 2017. Beloved wife of John Holmes. Loving mother to Stacia and her husband Kirk Leavitt, and Daniel Holmes and his wife Elaine (Scola). Daughter of the late Gertrude and Daniel Coffin. Cherished grandmother to Kate Leavitt, Molly Leavitt, Benjamin Holmes, and Cooper Holmes of Plymouth. Sister to Paul Coffin and his wife Jean of Halifax, Janet Hart of OH, Carolyn Coffin of Duxbury, Barbara Sjostedt and her husband Wayne of Duxbury, John Coffin of Duxbury, Gertrude Lavin and her husband Ted of Plymouth, Mary Derochea and her husband Arthur of FL, Judy Davis of Middleborough, and the late Madeline Chase of Pembroke, Rose Coffin of Kingston, Thomas Coffin of Plymouth, and Daniel Coffin of Duxbury. Margaret was born and raised in Duxbury and is a graduate of Duxbury High School. She worked in special education as an aide for Pilgrim Area Collabrative and at Reach. She enjoyed walking the Plymouth waterfront with friends, visiting Saquish Beach, gardening, painting, and spending time with her grandchildren and family. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 2nd at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Church in Duxbury. Graveside services will follow at the Mayflower cemetery in Duxbury.
