Shirley A. MacCormack (Flanagan) 82, of Duxbury, passed away on December 22, 2017, in the comfort of her loving family. She was the loving wife of the late, John G. MacCormack. She is survived by her children, Susan Hague and husband Christopher of Westport Point, John Jr. and wife Christine of Duxbury, Michael and wife Dorothy of Derry, NH, Nancy Bulger and husband Mark of Marshfield, James and wife Donna of Plymouth, Richard and wife Lori of Sandwich and Diane Garofalo and husband Thomas of Duxbury. She was a loving grandmother to twenty grandchildren and a loving great grandmother to seventeen. Shirley was the daughter of the late William and Mabel (Goldthwaite) Flanagan. Dear sister of William Flanagan Jr, of Middleboro, Patricia Flanagan-Mix, of Pocasset, Francis Flanagan, of West Islip, NY and Richard Flanagan of Canton. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Shirley was born in Norwood and raised in Canton, MA. Shewas a graduate of the Canton High School, class of 1952. She was a Pioneer in the Telephone Operator business. Her hobbies included, spending time with her loving family, relaxing at the beach, traveling to Aruba and Ireland, baking, reading and dancing. Visiting Hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. Kingston, on Thursday, December 28, from 4:00 to 8:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 29, at the Holy Family Church in Duxbury at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Shirley’s name to St. Judes.
