James Butters, of Kingston, MA and Davenport, FL, passed away on October 15, 2012, after a long illness. He was born in 1928 in Plymouth, MA to James and Cleora Butters. Predeceased by siblings, George and Richard Butters and Ruth Costa. He was married for 51 years to Sylvia Loring Butters. He leaves children, Donna and Peter Eldridge of Kingston, MA and Lynda and Jackie Bertram of North Port, FL, and grandchildren, Aimee and Leanne Eldridge of Kingston, MA and Emily Bertram of North Port, FL. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, locally and in Florida. Jim attended Plymouth schools and graduated in 1946 before entering the U.S. Army and serving two tours of service. Jim was a member of the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church of Kingston, Cornerstone Masonic Lodge of Duxbury, Scottish Rite Consistory of Boston and the American Legion Post 40 of Plymouth. Memorial calling hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Thursday, November 1, 2012, from 5:00-8:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 222 Main Street, Kingston, on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Interment services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of The Comforter, 480 W. Central Parkway, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714.
