Michele Vernazzaro Obituary
Michele (Shelly) Fairweather Vernazzaro of Lecanto FL, formerly of Kingston and Carver MA , passed away on 12/28/2025 after a lengthy illness. Born on April 8,1957 to parents William and Shirley Fairweather of Kingston, Shelly grew up in Kingston and graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School Class of 1975, where she was an outstanding athlete; her Field Hockey Team was inducted into the Silver Lake Hall of Fame a number of years ago. Shelly went on to graduate from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. After receiving her degree, Shelly began a career in public education, first teaching and coaching in Wareham MA and then in Florida. She retired as an elementary school Phys Ed teacher in Inverness, FL. Over the years Shelly owned a number of horses and was happiest when riding and caring for them. Shelly loved the outdoors and, in addition to riding, she enjoyed kayaking and pickleball.
She is survived by her siblings, William (Randy) Fairweather and his wife Jeni of Middleboro, MA, Suzan Duggan and her husband Steve of Plympton, MA and Jack Fairweather of San Diego, CA as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their children. She is also survived by her close friend and neighbor, Kevin Coyle, who spent much of his time over the last few years helping Shelly deal with her illness. We as a family owe Kevin an immeasurable debt of gratitude for his care and friendship.
Rest in peace, Shelly. You will be missed.
