Frank Tobin, Jr., born in 1936, of Pembroke, MA, passed away on April 7, 2026. Predeceased by Parents Adeline and Frank Tobin, Sr., Brother Michael, & Anne Dolores, his first wife and mother to there 3 children. Survived by daughters Linda Ann, Elizabeth Anne, and Dolores Jean.
Class of 1954, Malden High School, in 1954 worked at Harcourt News agency. Was on active duty at Fort Dix, NJ, basic training 1959. Served in the Army National Guard 1968-1974. Started full time work for Girltown in Boston for 12 years, left and opened Dee’s Fashion Clothing Store in 1968-1985 located in Brockton and Hanson. Worked for M&M Mars, Marion Merrill Dew, and Proctor & Gamble throughout the 90’s. Then was founder of the Pembroke Social Club and organized trips all across the northeast as host and tour guide.
Member of the American Legion, “honorary Knight of Knights of Columbus, was on the Boston Marathon Volunteer Committee, Pembroke Council on Aging, and one of the original founders / President of the Dullmen Group.
Spent much of his youth on the family farm in Calais, Vermont, and formerly of Everett, Malden, Brockton, Abington and Pembroke. His loves and passions were many including waterskiing, all pro sports and local teams especially the Bruins, Celtics, Patriots and his favorite the Boston Red Sox, NASCAR and in the last few years pro golf. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, nature walks, animal lover, model trains, cars, racetracks in the 60’s, traveling, puzzles, playing softball, played ice hockey in the 70’s, member of the Southeast Candlepin leagues in the 80’s, barbecues, photography, playing cards, cribbage with his Dad, cooking Italian food, 50’s - 70’s music, gardening, planting flowers (for which he won the green thumb award!), and spending time with family and friends.
A friend to many, our Dad was a smart and witty man with a zest for life.
Lived by the motto, “don’t sweat the small stuff”, enjoy life and what makes you happy.
His buddies were many over the years, including his best bud, Al Radin.
Visiting hours will take place on Thursday, April 16th from 11-1:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St (Rt. 106) Kingston, with a private graveside service to follow.
