Michael A. Mayo of Kingston, MA, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born on May 1, 1940, in Cambridge, MA, Michael was the son of Joseph and Constance Mayo of Belmont, MA. He graduated from Belmont High School and went on to earn a business degree from Suffolk University. Michael had a tremendous entrepreneurial spirit and started several businesses throughout his life. He was the proud owner of MJR Staffing for over 20 years.

Michael was a man of remarkable energy and character. He approached life with curiosity and confidence, never content to stand still and always ready for whatever came next. He had a gift for filling a room — and an even greater gift for loving his family, who remained at the center of everything he did.

Michael was the beloved husband of Mary (Mercier) Mayo, his wife of 65 years. He was the devoted father of Michael A. Mayo Jr. of Kingston, MA, and his late wife, Mary; and of Valerie Flores and her husband, Aaron, of Austin, TX. He was the cherished grandfather of Aaron and Gabrielle Flores of Austin, TX, and William, Michael, and Alexa Mayo of Kingston, MA.

He is survived by his brother Joseph Mayo and his wife, Elaine of Arlington, MA, and his sister Margie Garrett of Centerville, MA, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Michael will be remembered as a dynamic, loving, and loyal husband, father, and grandfather whose presence, warmth, and devotion to his family will be deeply missed until we see him again.
