Lawrence J. Marble Sr., “Grampy” or “Mr. Marble,” 95, of Halifax, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on April 4, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was the husband of the late Eleanor Marble, with whom he built a life and family he deeply cherished. He is survived by his sons, Lawrence Marble Jr. and Daniel Marble, and was predeceased by his daughters, Diane and Donna Marble. He was the proud grandfather of seven and great-grandfather of three.

A veteran and dedicated member of the wood, wire, and metal lathing union, Lonnie was known for his strong work ethic and resilience—some say he had nine lives, surviving Triple E at the age of 90. Spirited and outspoken, Lonnie had a sharp sense of humor and never hesitated to speak his mind.

He found joy in life's simple pleasures: Sunday poker games, cold beers, and the outdoors. He will be remembered for his love for snapping turtles, ice fishing, hunting, and time spent in his beloved shed—a place full of stories and laughter.

Though he will be greatly missed, there is comfort in knowing he is reunited with “his girls”—his wife Eleanor, daughters Diane and Donna, and daughter-in-law Joy. His legacy lives on in the stories, traditions, and memories he leaves behind.
