William F. "Bill" Lee, II Obituary

The family of Bill Lee, owner and principal of William F. Lee Architect & Associates of Duxbury, sadly announces his passing on April 1, 2026.

Bill held a BA in History and Art, a BArch, and an MBA. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects. During his 38 years as an architect, Bill designed over 1,000 homes throughout New England and the Caribbean. The phrase, often attributed to Confucius, “Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life" applied to Bill. He never considered retirement and continued to work up until the time of his death. Bill’s easy-going manner was appreciated by staff and clients, as well. He was a long-time resident of Duxbury and Megansett, as well.

He leaves his wife of 48 years, Susan, and two sons, Christopher, DHS Class of 2001, (and wife, Gini) of Boston and Steve, DHS Class of 2002 (and wife, Holly) of North Yarmouth, ME, along with 2 granddaughters, siblings, and nieces and nephews.

He will be buried at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, having served in the US Navy as a Lieutenant during the Vietnam war. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to support Dr. Maria Pabon Porras at Brigham and Women’s Hospital either online at www.bwhgiving or checks can be sent “In memory of William Lee” to BWH Development Office, 263 Huntington Ave, #318, Boston, MA 02115. Arrangements by the Shepherd Funeral Home, Kingston.
