Barbara “Bobbi” Evans, a lifelong resident of Duxbury, passed away peacefully at the age of 83, surrounded by her loving family.

Bobbi leaves behind her devoted husband of more than 63 years, Paul, and her four children: Elizabeth “Reed” of Duxbury; Peter and his wife, Lori, of Duxbury; Paul “Tripper” and his wife, Cindy, of Pembroke; and Sarah and her wife, Nancy, of Duxbury. She was a proud and loving grandmother to five grandchildren - Olivia, Jordan, Lucy, Riley, and Peter - who were the greatest joy of her life.

Bobbi’s smile and grace lit up every room she entered. She was deeply passionate about her friendships and the many people whose lives she touched. A longtime member of the Duxbury Yacht Club, the Mid Ocean Club of Bermuda, the Vincent Club of Boston, the Chilton Club of Boston, and the Fragments Society, she also served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Tabor Academy.

For nearly 40 years, Bobbi volunteered at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and was the founder of Mass General’s Pet Therapy Program nearly 25 years ago. Many will fondly remember seeing Bobbi on her walks around Powder Point with one of her beloved four-legged companions. She was also known for her beautiful gardens - and most of all, for her special chocolate chip cookies.

A celebration of Bobbi’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4th, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Duxbury.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Vincent Memorial Hospital Foundation in Boston.
