James P. Migre Obituary

James P. Migre, 94, of Green Harbor Marshfield, formerly of Pembroke, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 surrounded by the comfort and love of his family. Born on November 14, 1931 in Center Pembroke, he was the son of the late Pasquale J. and Helena (Gray) Migre.

To grow up as a boy in the 1930s New England was to be raised in a time of resilience. Jimmy's childhood was shaped by the lingering hardships of the Great Depression, where his family's core values were carved from hard work, loyalty, and community. Days were spent outdoors—exploring woods or on frozen ponds, helping with the garden chores before the sun had fully risen with his oldest brothers George and William. It was a boyhood that asked much of young men early, but in return it built a quiet strength and appreciation for the relationships found along the way. If there were ever a person who embodied those values— it would have been Jimmy. He lived those lessons not loudly, but wholeheartedly, for the rest of his life.

Jimmy graduated from Pembroke High School, Class of 1950, where his senior yearbook described him as..."With a smile for everyone, a joke and a teasing, that's our Jim. He's the good- looking boy with the dark eyes and wavy hair who has started many a heart a thumping. His sense of humor makes Jimmy a well-liked chum." Eager to deepen his knowledge of electrical work and engineering, Jimmy later attended Wentworth Institute of Technology.

From February 1952 through July 1953, he worked in the Arctic with the US Weather Bureau on a United States/Canadian project. He served in the US Army from August 1953 through June 1955. After his service, he began his long career as a machine operator and diesel master mechanic. He was a proud member of the Local 4 IUOE Machine Operators Union and celebrated his 50th Anniversary in 2018.

Throughout his life, he took immense pride in his work and the friendships forged. Jimmy was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it, often coming to the rescue to fix a broken machine. An avid boater, he spent countless hours aboard his beloved vessels "Harbor Lights," "Sea Duce," and then "The Charmer," which perfectly matched the man who captained her. He found joy and laughter out on the water and in the quiet presence of the sea.

Jimmy was the partner of the late Marilee Raynor, the Love of his Life. He is predeceased by his

brothers: George Migre and his wife Barbara of Pembroke, and William Migre and his wife Jean of Hanover. He is survived by his Nieces and Nephews: Kathleen Bergeron and her husband Lee of Hanson, George Migre and his wife Gerry of Effingham, NH. Mary Ellen Migre of Quincy, Terry Davies (Migre) and late husband John of Norfolk, Jeff Migre and his wife Mary Ellen of Hanover, and Sam Migre and his wife Dawne of Halifax, and the late Gael Migre. He is survived by 16 great nieces and nephews, and 14 great -great nieces and nephews. He was a generous and loving Uncle and will be missed by all.
