Joseph N. Froehlich Obituary

Joseph Nicodemus Froehlich passed away peacefully at his home on February 5, 2026.


Born and raised, working on the family dairy farm in Belfield, North Dakota until he joined the US Navy on April 16, 1956 where he became a pipe fitter. He met and was married to the love of his life, Anna Marie (Long) Froehlich for 62 wonderful years. They resided in Roxbury and then Brockton, MA until 1995. Where he worked as a sprinkler fitter for Local 550 and raised 3 children.


Joseph and Anna Marie enjoyed spending time in Moultonborough, NH where they built a home and eventually retired and became permanent residents on Lake Winnipesaukee  where they had numerous loving friends. They moved to Carver in2019 where Joseph was currently residing. In his earlier days he loved to spending time fishing and cruising in his boat on Lake Kanasatka and Lake Winnipesaukee. He also enjoyed hunting, carpentry and lending a helping hand to anyone that needed it. He was a jack of all trades.


He loved watching and being with his children, grandchildren and great grandsons.


Joseph is predeceased by his wife Anna Marie (Long) Froehlich, Son Joseph G. Froehlich, Sister in law JoAnn (Alinkowitz) Long, Sisters Janette Froehlich, Mary Louise Stoltz and JoAnne Wagoner, Brothers Norbert Froehlich, Edward Froehlich, Ervin Froehlich and Ernest Froehlich.


He leaves behind his daughter Mary E. (Habeeb) Froehlich and her partner William Morgan of Middleborough, son William N. Froehlich and wife Tammy (Dunn) Froehlich of Carver. Eight grandchildren, Nicholas Habeeb and wife Elisabeth (Allen) Habeeb, Michael Habeeb and wife Kathleen (Briscoe) Habeeb, Daniel Froehlich, Timothy Habeeb and wife Emily (Hayes) Habeeb, BriAnna-Marie (Habeeb) Johnson and her husband Kevin Johnson, Audra (Froehlich) Moore and husband Sam Moore, Braden Froehlich and wife Jenna (Keene) Froehlich and Corey Froehlich. Sister, Annette (Froehlich) Dumke and her husband Curt. Brothers Francis Froehlich, Donald Froehlich and his wife Sarah. Brother in law, Frederick Long. Two step Grandchildren, Danielle (Connolly) Gore and husband Landon Gore and Meghan Connolly. Six great grandsons, Jake Habeeb, Gabriel Habeeb, Caiden Johnson, Jude Habeeb, Zayn Johnson, Joseph Habeeb and another due in April. Two step Great Grandsons, Wade Gore and Lane Gore. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 


His smile and twinkling eyes as he watched his family grow will be missed by everyone but will remain in our memories.

visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St, Carver MA, on Monday, February 16th from 4:00 to 8:00pm. A Funeral mass will be held on February 17th at 10:00am at St. Mary's Church, 392 Hanover st, Hanover MA. Burial services will follow at the MA National Cemetery at 12:30pm.
