Robert was the devoted husband of Dianne Crane Herrick of Carver, formerly of Quincy. Together they shared a life rooted in family, loyalty, and love.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Crane Herrick; Justin Crane and Maria Mariacher, and their children, Michael Mariacher, Kamryn Crane, Angel Crane, Ava Crane, and Mason Balcius; Meagan Crane and her wife, Martina Crane, of Medford, and their child, Oliver Crane-Wiley, son of Richard Wiley; Thomas Crane and his wife, Samantha Crane, of Middleboro, and their children, Blayke Crane, Colby Crane, and Brooke Crane; and his son, Robert W. Herrick, and his wife, Destini.

He was also blessed with one great-grandchild, Oakley Alice, grandpa's"Little Al".

A lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, Robert spent much of his life traveling across the country on his motorcycle, attending rallies and races and visiting new places, before eventually settling down. Those travels were a defining part of his life and reflected his independent spirit and love of adventure.

Friend or stranger, Robert was friendly to all. He had a gift for conversation and could speak to anyone as though they had known each other forever, with a way of talking that made people feel instantly comfortable. He had a great sense of humor and truly enjoyed “getting people going,” as he liked to say, often joking that someone was getting “jiggy.” His laughter and easygoing nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Throughout his life, Bob’s friendships meant everything to him. His friends were more than companions — they were brothers, extensions of his family, and a constant source of loyalty, laughter, and support.

Robert spent many years working at the Quincy Shipyard and was also employed by Industrial Air Control and Boston Water Bus. He was known for always being two hours early for his workday in Boston, a reflection of his reliability and dedication.

Robert will be remembered for his love of family, his adventurous spirit, his humor, and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Callling hours will be held for Bob on Friday February 13th from 2-5pm with a service at 5pm  at the Shepherd Funeral Home 116 Main St. Carver, MA.
