Marilyn (Lindy) Keay passed away suddenly on Friday, December 5, 2025.She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Robert Keay of Kingston, MA; her two loving sons, Jeffrey Keay of Cohasset, MA and Andrew Keay and his wife Jennifer of Norwell, MA; her sister Donna Asnani and her husband Manohar of Moreland Hills, OH; and her six grandchildren: Jackson, Lilly, Jasper, Wesley, Adeline and Isla.
Lindy was born in New Rochelle, NY on May 11, 1946 and was the daughter of the late Richard and Mary Lou Maulsby. She grew up in Darien, CT and attended Simmons College in Boston, MA during which time she met her husband, Rob. She went on to receive her Masters in Education from Cambridge College.
Lindy was a lifelong educator, starting her career of 27 years in the Norwell school system in 1968 and eventually retiring as a teacher in the Plymouth School system in 2005. Her commitment to her students extended well beyond the classroom, and a scholarship for graduating seniors in Plymouth was established in her name earlier in 2025, which will continue going forward.
Throughout her life, Lindy was selflessly dedicated to helping others – it was her life’s mission. She was proudly involved with the Pilgrim Church of Duxbury for many years and counted many members of the church as her close friends. She knew no bounds when it came to doing for others – especially those she loved and those in need. She donated countless hours serving meals at the Pine Street Inn, cooking and dropping off meals for those who could not care for themselves, teaching English as a second language, providing transportation to those who could not drive, and countless other acts of charity, all of which reflected her unwavering love of doing for others.
More than anything else, Lindy was happiest spending time with those she loved. She cherished every one of the thousands of hours she spent babysitting her grandchildren over the last 20 years. All of her friends and family felt her endless love, care and support in each and every interaction with her. Her love, thoughtfulness and caring nature will be eternally missed by all whose lives she touched.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00AM at the Pilgrim Church of Duxbury. There will be a reception to follow at the Duxbury Bay Maritime School.
