Mark A Griffin Obituary

Mark A. (Binky) Griffin passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Tremont Rehabilitation in Wareham at the age of 72.

Binky, as he was known to everyone, was born in Wareham on August 10, 1953, to the late Arthur E. Griffin II and Marcia Williams Griffin.  He grew up in Guilford, Connecticut and graduated from Guilford High Schook in 1971.  After high school, he enlisted in the Army.  Upon Honorable Discharge in 1974, he received the National Defense Service Medal and commendations for Expert Granade Performance and a Sharpshooter.

Following the Army, he entered Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island majoring in Culinary Arts.  He loved to cook and most notably pit roasting a whole pig outdoors at all day event as a centerpiece of a big roast party.  He also loved riding his Harley.

He then turned to be the sawyer at R.D. Wiliams Sawmill, operating heavy equipment and working on the bogs with Chet Halunen, enjoying all these various phases of his life.

Binky is survived by his sister, Marcia G. Harrington, his uncles Pete, Henry and Timmy, his cousins and cousins’ children.  He is predeceased by his wife, Debra Garnett.

A graveside service will be held in the Spring at the Union Cemetery in Carver.
