Amos A. “Butch” Wood III 74 yrs old passed away Wednesday, May 7th, 2025 at his 2nd home in Hamer, SC.

Born in Reno, Nevada, August 25, 1950 he was the son of the late Amos A. Wood Jr. and Blanche Warnken Wood. Amos is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bertha (Bezanson) Wood of Hamer, SC; children Tina Wood of Marshfield, MA, Buddy Wood of New Mexico, Barbara McKay of Juno Beach, FL and Edward (April) Wood of Hanson, MA; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Govoni (Brian) of Hamer, SC, Judy Harlow (Rick) of Pompano Beach, FL, Dorothea Francis of Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Elaine Pacheco of Carver, Shirley MaClean of Cape Cod and Claire Adams of West Bridgewater.

He loved traveling , especially his cruises. He loved cooking especially breakfast on holiday mornings. Butch grew up in Pembroke,MA and has lived in Florida before moving back to Plympton,MA for 33 years and bought a second home in Hamer, SC.

Funeral services for Amos will be held at Shepherd’s Funeral Home in Kingston,MA on November 13, 2025 from 10-11am followed by a burial at the Central Cemetery located at 74 Central St. Halifax, Ma.
