It is with profound sadness and disbelief that we share the heartbreaking news of Paul Alphonsus Ledwell, Jr.'s passing. He left this world far too soon on October 24, 2025, at the age of 37, following a tragic crane accident.
Paul was born on January 8, 1988, and was a cherished father, son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. His impact on the lives of those who knew him will never be forgotten. Paul was the devoted father of two sons, Paul (12) and Vincent (8) who were the absolute light of his life. His love for his boys was endless and unwavering. He poured his heart into being their dad and loved nothing more than spending time with them. Whether it was fishing, exploring the outdoors, watching them play sports or simply sharing moments of laughter. He would have moved mountains and crossed oceans to ensure their happiness. He was always their greatest supporter and willing to do anything just to be by their side.
Paul grew up in Pembroke and graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School in 2006. After graduating high school following in his father’s footsteps, Paul became a member of the New York Local 1556 Piledrivers and Dock builders Union. He went on to pursue his passion for construction, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology graduating in 2010. Later he transferred to the Boston Local 56 Piledrivers and Dock builders Union.
Paul’s warm smile could light up any room. His love for his family was like no other. He was the rock for so many, always putting others first and offering his support and care. He loved fishing and spending time outdoors. Paul was an animal lover with a heart as big as the sky. His generosity knew no bounds, he would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation.
Paul’s passing leaves a void that can never be filled. His big heart, his laughter, his kindness, and love for his son’s, family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
Paul was the beloved son of Paul and Debra (Maimaron) Ledwell of Middleboro, and brother of Darcy Kennedy and her husband Sean of Plympton, Daniel Ledwell and his fiancée Savannah Braley of Plympton, and his late sister Caitlin Ledwell. Paul and Caitlin were the best of friends, sharing an unbreakable bond. He missed her deeply every day, and now they are together for eternity. He was also the adored grandson of William and Judith Maimaron of Weymouth and the late Alphonsus Ledwell and Johanna Ledwell of Weymouth. Paul was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews and a treasured member of a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Rest in peace, Paul. You were deeply loved, and you will be forever missed.
