Paul P. Hayes, Jr., of Kingston, MA, formerly of Milton, MA, passed away on August 21, 2025, in Middleboro, MA.
The son of the late Paul P. Hayes, Sr., and Ann O'Donnell Hayes, Paul was born in 1939, and grew up in Hull, MA. Paul graduated from Sacred Heart School in Weymouth. Paul went on to complete his BS at Boston College and his Juris Doctor of Law Degree at Suffolk University School of Law. He was a partner with his wife, Mary Dianne Wixted Hayes, who predeceased him in 2011, of Hayes and Hayes, Attorneys at Law, in Quincy, MA, where he practiced law for over 50 years.
In 2008, Paul was awarded the Public Service Award by the Quincy Bar Association. He was a fierce advocate of those who were less fortunate. When Paul was not practicing law, he and his wife enjoyed cross country skiing and traveling. They devoted a good number of years and love to the showing, breeding and raising of Irish Wolfhounds. They were members of IWANE. Paul was a longtime member and Eucharistic Minister of St. Agatha Church in Milton before moving to Kingston. Paul was an Eagle Scout and Boy Scout leader at St. Agatha Parish in Milton for many years.
Paul was the first of six children. He is survived by his sister Dolores (Hayes) Kane of Kingston, MA, and his brother Sean P. Hayes of Miami, FL. Paul is predeceased by his sister, Diane (Hayes) Becker of Middleburgh, NY, his brother Charles Hayes and sister Sharon (Hayes) Frediani, both of Spain. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, whom he loved dearly.
A Celebration of Paul’s life will be held on October 16, 2025, at 11 am, at St. Peter’s Church, 86 Court St, Plymouth, MA 02360.
