Jerry Harnish (Dawson) also lovingly known as “Muzzy” passed away on September 11th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born in Brookline, MA, she is the loving daughter of the late Hugh Dawson (father) and his late wife Kay Dawson, and the late Geraldine (Swain) Goodoak (mother) and her late husband Robert Goodoak.

Jerry grew up in Medford, MA and raised her children in Melrose, MA. She later lived in Wakefield, MA and finally in Plymouth, MA.

Jerry’s interests included hosting large family dinners and gatherings, cooking and baking, dancing, traveling, and spending time with her beloved family.

Always bringing light and comedy into every situation - Jerry was a force. She was known for her quick wit and intelligence, always sending perfectly written notes and cards to her loved ones.

Jerry was the ex-wife of the late Edward Harnish, loving companion to Robin Brown, and the late Fred Leona.

Beloved sister of Judy McShane of Plymouth, MA, Bob Dawson and his wife Roberta of Hillsborough, NC, Robin Smith and her husband Jeb of Johns Creek, Georgia, Robert Goodoak Jr. of Merritt Island, Florida, James Dawson and his wife Tiffany of Billerica, Brad Dawson of Stoneham, MA, and the late Brian Dawson and Barry Dawson.

Adored mother of Richard (Richie) Harnish of Las Vegas, Nevada and Kerri-Ann Levy and her partner, Missy Clement of Ocala, Florida.

Loving aunt of Robin McShane, Tammie Scoyne, Eric Dawson, Ryan Dawson, Ashley Dawson, Alexandra Dawson, Brennan Smith, Caitlin Reynolds, and the late Robbie McShane.

Jerry cherished her grandchildren, Christina, Shaylyn, Kiley, and Kaydyn, and her great grandchildren, Joshua, Dominic, Kaiden, Sophia, and Luca.

She will be fondly remembered by her many cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, along with many friends.

A celebration of life will be planned for Jerry (Muzzy) at a later date for family and friends to come together and remember this wonderful, kind, funny, and loving person.
