Barbara Ellen Belanger, age 90, of Carver, Mass, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on Thursday August 7th... Barbara was born on May 17, 1935.  She was the daughter of Charles and Ellen Harrington and grew up in Braintree, Mass.  She was married to the late John “Jack”Belanger.  They were married for 65 years until his passing in 2020. They were devoted to each other and their relationship inspired many.  She was a homemaker and often commented that she “loved being home with her kids as they grew up”.  She later worked for many years at Grossmans as a controller.  

She is survived by her daughter Catherine Belanger Paul, son David Belanger and daughter in law Joan Belanger and son Peter Belanger and daughter in law Linda Belanger.  She also leaves her 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Bowen, Alyssa Beauregard, James Belanger and Brittney Belanger.  She has 4 great grandchildren, Samantha, Tom, Emily, Sophie..  

She is the sister of Beverly Morton and the late JoAnn Eldridge who she missed every day.  She is also the sister of the late Charles Harrington, Jr.  She was very close to her sister in lawMary Belanger, who was like a sister to her, and also with her brother in law Ray Eldridge.  She also leaves many nieces and nephews and many Harrington cousins who all loved her very much. 

She and Jack were avid hikers, mountain climbers and campers.  They traveled throughout the United States in their RV, including a cross country trip to Alaska at the start of their long retirement.  

Visiting hours will be at Shepherd Funeral Homes, 116 Main Street, Carver Mass, on Wednesday August 13, 2025 from 9 am to 11 am.  A service will be held directly following, at 11 am at the funeral home.  A private family burial service will be held at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Mass., where she will be laid to rest by the side of her beloved husband John.  

We are all so broken hearted and will miss her every day.
