Russell E. Gettemy, of Plympton, Mass., died peacefully but suddenly on July 31, 2025.

He is survived by his wife Susan (Lane) Gettemy, his sister Janet (Gettemy) Esancy, and beloved sons James, David and Jeffrey.  He is the father of the late Lauren Gettemy. He is also survived by the following grandchildren: Laurielle Conte, James Gettemy Jr., Ethan Gettemy, Emily Gettemy, Sean Gettemy, Kathryn Hallisey, Maeghan Hallisey, Christopher Gettemy, Michael Gettemy, Mary Gettemy, Trynitee Doherty, Fayth Doherty, and Josh Doherty.

Russell was a man of faith; he loved the Lord and reading/studying scripture.  He was well liked by all, and he loved teasing everyone to make them smile.  He had a calm spirit and enjoyed people to the fullest.  He was steadfast and of a strong character, trustworthy and honest.

Russell was a hard-working man; had many trades throughout the years; printer (Halliday Lithograph), plastic injection molding (Pixley Richards), plumbing, and eventually ran his own heat and A/C business. No task was too daunting; he had awesome mechanical abilities and could fix almost anything.
