William A. "Bill" Fuller Obituary

In loving memory of William Alfred Fuller. January 9, 1945- July 3, 2025

William Alfred Fuller, of Plymouth, MA, formerly of Duxbury, MA, passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born in Salem, MA on January 9, 1945 and grew up in Ashburnham, MA.

His greatest joy was his family. He was the beloved husband of loving wife of 51 years, Annette (Briand) Fuller.  He also leaves daughter Kristen (Fuller) Derosier (Mike) of North Attleboro, daughter Lauren (Fuller) Lamb (Tom) of Marshfield, and son Kevin Fuller (Maria Belen) of Lexington, MA.  His precious grandchildren Megan, Braeden, Michaela, Beckett, Grayson, Keira, and Austin were the light of his life.  He never missed a chance to celebrate their milestones and sports events, with quiet pride and his warm smile.  He also leaves his sister Judith (Fuller) McBride (James) and sister Jayne (Fuller) Hastings.  In addition, Bill will be missed by brother-in-law Dennis Briand (Maureen) and sister-in-law Pam Pike (Jerry); as well as Patrick Lamb and Gail Lamb.  Bill is pre-deceased by parents Donald Fuller and Thenis Fuller.

Bill graduated from UMass Amherst with a Bachelor’s in Economics and from Northeastern University with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. He entered the US Navy in 1968 and served on the Nuclear Submarine, USS Daniel Boone as a Machinist Mate for 6 years.  He then worked at Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation for over 40 years, retiring in 2013.

Upon retirement, travel adventures took Bill and Annette to England, Italy, France, Switzerland, and Ireland.  They also enjoyed road trips to many destinations, but especially to New Hampshire for visits with his sisters.  Some of the most cherished vacations were the annual trip to Cape Cod Beach house with the entire family.

Bill enjoyed many years of golfing and skiing, along with just about any outdoor activity.

Bill was kind-hearted, quick witted, and lovingly protective of his family. To those who knew him, Bill was the nicest man on the planet.  He lived the way he passed: gently and peacefully. His family deeply mourns his passing.  He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength.  He will be missed beyond words, but his spirit lives on in the many lives he touched.

Bill’s wake will be held at Shepherd Funeral Home, Kingston, MA on Thursday, July 10, 2025, 3-6 pm.  A funeral service will be held at the same location on Friday July 11, at 10 am, followed by a burial service at Bourne National Cemetery at 12:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family’s wishes are for a donation to an organization close to Bill’s heart: Parkinson’s Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes (now called Breakthrought1d.org) or Colorectal Cancer Foundation.
