It is with sadness that we share the passing of William (Bill) Blaauboer of Plymouth, Massachusetts, formerly of Colchester, Connecticut, who died on May 20, 2025, at the age of 85.

Bill's family includes his wife, Patricia Blaauboer; his stepchildren, Paul and Erin Joudrey and his daughters, Angelika Stadter and Julia Thiel; and He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryan, Haylee, Sean, Henry, and Caleb, and his great-grandchildren, Mason, Wesley, and Cameron. Bill's surviving siblings are Peter and his wife Joanne, Gail Belcastro, and Mark and his wife Debra. He was predeceased by his sister, Judy Zwink.

Born in Albany, NY, Bill was the son of Peter E. Blaauboer and Mary Rose (Oswald) Blaauboer. He attended Colonie Central High School in Colonie, NY, where he was a standout athlete, holding records for the 100- and 220-yard dashes. A talented tenor, Bill performed as a soloist and with chorale groups throughout his elementary and high school years. He pursued higher education at Ricker College in Houlton, Maine, and the Junior College of Albany. From 1962 to 1965, Bill honorably served his country in the Army, stationed in Germany as part of a medical unit. Upon his return, he embarked on a successful forty-year career in banking.

Bill was a lifelong golf enthusiast, playing avidly from his youth well into his early eighties. He found joy and relaxation in his workshop, where he spent countless hours crafting birdhouses, often gifting them to friends and family. Bill's simple pleasures included sitting on his deck in the sunshine, enjoying a good cigar, and listening to his favorite radio station.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 13, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 1:45p. Arrangements by Shepherd Funeral Home in Kingston, Massachusetts.
