Joseph Wenzel Smolic 1954-2025

Joseph Wenzel Smolic passed away suddenly on May 16, 2025 at the age of 70.

Born in Pennsylvania in 1954 to his parents Josef and Theresa Smolic, he is survived by his siblings Erika and her husband Ken Gardner, Tom and his wife Anneliese Smolic, Mary Ann and her husband Dan Sulik. He was the loving Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Joseph was the loving father to Joshua Smolic and his wife Olya Margul, Lucas Smolic, Marcus and his husband Charlie Frederick-Rose, and Lauren Smolic. He was a loving husband, son-in-law, and brother-in-law through his former marriage to Loretta Rose, the mother of his children.

He is survived by his partner Debbie Brown and her family. Joseph attended St Lawrence Seminary, University of Wisconsin Parkside, and Chicago College of Industrial Engineering. He graduated with degrees in Industrial Engineering and Business Management.

He had a passion for woodworking, boating, and travel. Though he lived in Wisconsin, Chicago, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Florida, most of his life was spent in Kingston, Massachusetts. He was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus where he had many close friends. His volunteer work included service at the Catholic Churches of St. Joseph's in Kingston, MA, and Holy Family Parish in Duxbury, MA.

Please join the family on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Shepardʻs Funeral Home, 216 Main Street Kingston, MA 02364 from 9:00 to 10:30 followed by a funeral Mass at St. Josephʻs Parish, 272 Main Street Kingston MA 02364 at 11:00.
