Filomena Frattasio Obituary

Filomena Frattasio, 83 of Kingston, formerly of Duxbury passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

Nina, as she was known to those who loved her, was born in Fallo, Italy on August 2, 1941 to Vincent and Ida D’Angelo. Nina met her husband Joseph, an American soldier, while he was visiting her hometown in Italy.  They fell in love and married soon after, settling in Josephs home in Boston in 1959.

Nina quickly mastered the English language and became an accomplished seamstress in her early days and carried that love of sewing throughout her life.  She was also a culinary marvel as many can attest to, creating delicious meals for her family and all visitors to her home.  She also had a love of gardening and nature, cultivating her plants with such pride and joy.  Her dedication and love for her family had no bounds.  She had a compassionate soul that was based in her deep faith in God.  She was a wonderful friend to many, always ready to help or just lend an ear. Nina was always there when you needed her, showing unconditional love and support.  She had a knack for making you feel better, in her kind and gentle way.

Nina is predeceased by her husband Joseph.  Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life.  She was mother to Joseph (Margaret), Lucy Pilon and Tracy Sheehan (Padraic).  Her endless love extended to her grandchildren Mia, Aidan, Olivia, Isobel, Robert, Brendan and Ava and her great-grandchildren August, Ian,  Mick and a great-granddaughter scheduled to arrive in September. She is also survived by her sister Adriana and her nephew Vincent.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 27th at 10am at St. Josephs Church, 272 Main Street, Kingston.  Interment will follow at Mayflower cemetery in Duxbury.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local food bank in her memory.
