Anne graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in 1947 and went on to graduate from The Carney Hospital School of Nursing in 1950 as an RN. She worked as a Registered Nurse at the clinic of Dr Rosengard in Southie from 1950-1952. After a 25 year “vacation” to raise her kids, Anne returned to work and finished her career at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home as a geriatric nurse from 1979-1992.
She moved down to Rocky Nook in Kingston in 1979 after her much loved summer cottage was turned into a winter home. She could enjoy all four seasons in her favorite place. She cherished family time, hosting holidays and Sunday dinner each week. All were welcome. She was always the neighborhood nurse for scores of kids who came to her with a fever, cut, or broken bone.
She was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. She loved animals and was never without a cat to spoil. She had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. She was a lifelong Red Sox fan and rarely missed a game. Her faith was essential to her, and she served as a Eucharistic Minister at St Josephs Parish in Kingston from 2000-2017. She showed her Christian faith not just in church, but in the kindness and warmth in which she welcomed anyone in need of bed or a meal into her home.
Memorial visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. Kingston on Monday, April 28th from 2:00 to 3:30pm. A funeral service will begin at 3:30pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home.
