Christine McDonnell Haas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Kingston, Massachusetts, surrounded by her family on April 6, 2025. She was 73 years old.

Born on April 21, 1951, in the Bronx, New York, Christine was the eldest of eight children of Rita Anne Gallagher and Xavier Owen McDonnell. From an early age, she embraced her role as a leader and protector of her siblings, a role she carried into every part of her life with grace, tenacity, and love.

Christine shared 40 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, John Lee Haas. Together they built a beautiful family, raising four children — Sarah, Stephen, Kristen, and Alexandra — and later becoming cherished grandparents to Isabella, Stella, Chrissy, Max, AJ, Sean, Sagan, Gertie, Mairinn, Calliope, and Sully.

For 20 years, Christine served the Town of Kingston with dedication and pride. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was known for her vibrant love of music, her timeless sense of fashion, and her deep devotion to her family. She loved a good story — whether sharing one, hearing one, or living one — and she remained a fierce, passionate spirit throughout her life. A devoted daughter, a tenacious woman, and a true force of nature, Christine's warmth and strength touched everyone who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury, on Wednesday, April 9 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.

Christine’s legacy of love, laughter, and perseverance will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
