Obituary of Lynda S. Dickerson
Lynda S. Dickerson
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynda S. Dickerson, who peacefully departed this world on March 31, 2025, surrounded by her family, after a brief illness. Born on April 5, 1943, Lynda lived a life full of joy, adventure, and love.
Lynda is survived by her devoted husband, Frank “Skip” Dickerson, and her cherished children: Michele Hunter of Windermere, FL; Scott Parker of Silver Spring, MD, and Brooks Day of Millis, MA as well as her two stepchildren: Wendy Dickerson of Wheatland, WY and David Dickerson of Freising, Germany. She also leaves behind nine adoring grandchildren (Jay, Patrick, Talia, Andrew, Noah, Finn, Tess, Brayden, and Kevin) who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Lynda's life was enriched by the many places she and Skip called home, including Truro, MA with the beautiful Pamet River, the vibrant village of San Pancho, Nayarit, Mexico, and most recently, the welcoming community at The Village at Duxbury, MA. Lynda and Skip also traveled the United States and the rest of the world, and she especially liked returning to Graves Mountain in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia which held a special place in her heart and was the scene of many family gatherings.
Lynda’s family will remember her love of games, competitive spirit and love of sports. She delighted in teaching her grandchildren card games (Spite & Malice) as well as board games (Mexican Train and Rummikub). She could spend an entire afternoon in Truro on the Pamet River creating adventures for her grandchildren. Lynda was an avid sports fan (baseball, football, golf, basketball) particularly the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. She even kept track of the March madness tournament during her recent illness.
Fond memories of Lynda also include her culinary talents and her passion for birding. She gifted her family with recipes for her famous stuffed clams, her delicious chocolate pudding cake, her chocolate krinkle Christmas cookies, and, most importantly, an angel food cake that she always infused with Crème de Menthe. Lynda also enjoyed birdwatching daily and shared this love for birds, particularly the Blue Bird and the Baltimore Oriole, with her children and grandchildren.
Lynda’s philanthropic spirit shone brightly in her outreach to youth education at Entreamigos in San Pancho, Nayarit, Mexico, a quality that continues to inspire her family.
Lynda Dickerson's legacy of love, adventure, and generosity will forever be remembered by all who have had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her memory to either the Mass Audubon Society, Entreamigos, or a charity of your choice.
