Mary L. Boman Obituary

Mary L. Boman (known as Mary Lou) formerly of Weymouth and most recently Kingston, passed away peacefully with family present on March 13th. Mary Lou worked at United Congregational Church of Weymouth and Braintree for many years and upon retirement worked for the Town of Kingston Council of Aging as the Shine Coordinator.  


Treasured wife to the late Carl Boman. Cherished mother to Mark Boman of Weymouth, Joy Hurley and her husband Michael of Plymouth and Christine McCarthy and her husband Paul of Florida.  She was the beloved grandmother to her 4 grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda, Matt and Samantha.  She loved spending time with her 5 great-grandchildren, Amelia, Mikey, Joise, Gracie and Wyatt.  She was known as GamGam and was loved by all.  


Mary Lou moved to Town & Country Estates in Kingston in her retirement with her husband and made many wonderful friends.  She was an active member of Silver Lake Chapel and liked to help out with the Church Fair and Friday night dinners.  She loved going to the Kingston Council of Aging for the many activities and luncheons.  Mary Lou loved to keep busy and volunteered her time happily and with a smile on face.  She was a lifelong lover of cats and had many over the years.


The family would like to thank the Newfield House for keeping her safe and comfortable in her last days.


Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, Kingston, MA. A service for Mary Lou will be held at 11:00 AM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, with burial immediately following at Blue Hills Cemetery in Braintree, MA.  


In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary Lou’s memory may be made to: Kingston Council of Aging at 30 Evergreen St, Kingston MA 02364
