

Obituary of Carolyn F. Cattell
Carolyn F. Cattell (Jason-Vickery) passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, in Lakeville, Massachusetts. Born on April 4, 1936, in Hingham, Massachusetts, Carolyn lived a life guided by faith, family, and a deep appreciation for the ocean and nature.
A devout Catholic, Carolyn found great joy in her faith and was an active member of the Holy Family Church in Duxbury and the Duxbury choir, where she shared her love of music with others. She was also a proud graduate of the first, Duxbury Senior Citizen Police Academy class.
Her spiritual devotion remained a cornerstone of her life.
She had a lifelong career at the Telephone Company until her retirement at 55 years old.
She had a profound love for the ocean and the outdoors, spending countless hours at the beach, (Bassing in Cohasset & Duxbury Beach) and tending to her garden, creating beautiful spaces filled with life and color. Golf was another passion of hers, providing both relaxation and cherished moments with friends. She also worked as a nanny for several years and loved caring for children.
Carolyn is survived by her loving children: Edward Vickery and his wife Lynne, John Vickery and his wife Teresa, Sharon Foster, Susan Denison and her wife Melanie, and Shiela Baker and her husband Charles. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Eryn Burke and her husband Keith, Brett Vickery and his wife Sarah, Molly Foster, Broghden Baker, Jason Vickery, and Sean Vickery. Her legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren: Ryleigh Johnson, Ayva Johnson, Charlotte Vickery, and Jackson Vickery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles, and Emma; her brother Richard; her sisters Eileen, Betty, and Margaret; as well as by her husband John and ex-husband Edward Vickery.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, Kingston, MA. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury, MA, with burial immediately afterward at Woodside Cemetery, 555 N. Main Street, Cohasset, MA 02025.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carolyn's name to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
