I had the pleasure to meet Doug and his family when we played softball in Plymouth forty five years ago and continued the friendship long after we all retired from the game. There were countless memories and wonderful times together including beach parties, holiday celebrations, cookouts, and just hanging out enjoying the time together. Cherished memories indeed.
To Helen, Mike, and Matt; Today and always, may loving memories bring you peace, comfort, and strength.
R.I.P. Doug

We moved to Plymouth Ma. In 1979, the same year the Harris’s moved here. Just so happened that quite a few young men answered an ad that was recruiting men for a softball team. That was the beginning of a long and wonderful friendship not only between the men, but many families. Our children grew up together. We spent many weekends watching the guys play ball, enjoying the beach, socializing and camping. Those were some of the best times. We really were like one big family.
When we think of Dougie, the first thing one thinks of is how he would give you the shirt off his back. Nothing was too much of an effort for family and friends. It’s been a blessing to have him in our lives.
R.I.P. DOUG HARRIS❤️. Til we meet again❤️

Doug was truly a wonderful person with a family that all wished they had. Doug’s dry humor and pleasant smiles and laughter will be remembered.
I extend my deepest sympathies to dear Helen and family.
My thoughts and prayers are with Doug and all.
Sincerely,
Dennis A. Calderone

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Glenn?
A: My Cousin Doug was alot of fun to be around. When he would visit us in Weymouth he would always start a baseball game with me & my siblings. Doug was our older cousin who we looked up to. He was kind but also competitive. He was a great athlete and loved sports. We always enjoyed being around him & my Uncle Bob. We would visit them when they lived in NH.
Doug was a great role model for us back when we were growing up. I will miss him. Rest in Peace Doug. ❤️
