William F Callahan of Kingston, 66 years of age, died at home after a long illness and surrounded by family, on January 30, 2025. He was the loving husband of Marianne Callahan for 44 years, in a life filled with love, laughter and 4 beautiful children.
William was born in Milton MA, and raised in Weymouth. He was a son of the late Frank Callahan and Dorothy (Palmieri) Callahan, and graduated from Weymouth Vocational Technical High School in 1976, and Peterson Trade School, Woburn MA, in 1989, where he consecutively achieved Dean’s List Honors.
Following his education, Bill worked for the Local 4 International Union of Operating Engineers for 35 years. He also belonged to the Steam Fitters Engineering Local 3 of Boston where he worked as a second-class fireman. He was a proud union member, and was also a skilled mason, building walkways and patios at his Kingston home.
Bill, or "Wild Bill", as his close family member and friends called him, loved the thrill of hard work. He was a dedicated, honest, take-no-guff type of guy who enjoyed the New Hampshire outdoors of Lake Winnipesaukee and his boat Better Than Nothing.
He loved to laugh and play practical jokes with his kids, neighbors and friends, and was a passionate coach for his son‘s baseball and hockey teams. He enjoyed fishing with his children, his Harley Davison motorcycle and bike runs. He loved his country and supported all Veteran Organizations.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife Marianne (Ward) Callahan, his sons William P. Callahan of Quincy,MA, Daniel Callahan of Boston, MA, Joshua Callahan and his wife Lyndsey Callahan of Middleborough MA, his daughter, Meagan Hilchuck and her husband Max Hilchuck of Weymouth MA, his grandson’s Holden Callahan and Lucas Callahan, his brother Paul Callahan and his sister-in-law Jeanine Callahan in South Weymouth MA, his sister Nancy Callahan Clarke and her husband David Clarke of Naples, Fl.
Bill also leaves behind a large family of nieces, nephews, sister and brother-in-law’s and many cousin.
Services for Wlliam will be held on Saturday March 8th from 2:00 to 6:00PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St.Kingston, MA.
