Polly was a very good friend of my parents Henry and Sheila Milliken. After her husband died she went on trips with them all over the world
And they had a great time together. When my Moms dementia progressed she was the one friend who really stuck by her. She would pick her up for excercise class at the Senior Center twice a week. She became a good friend to me and my brother and sisters. When my parents were both failing she was a rock for me to lean on and I appreciated her so much. After my fathers funeral we had raw oysters that my nephew Dustin got. She loved them and i didnt but I sat with her and ate 2 in solidarity. She was a wonderful person.

Our condolences to the Lanman family. From our earliest days in Duxbury in the 1980s we knew Polly through her work at Alden School, Tom’s work at Bayside, Polly on the tennis court. Through babysitting for some of her grandchildren, and most recently as a favorite neighbor of our mother’s at VAD…Polly was kind, fun-loving, always laughing. A wonderful member of her community.

I remember meeting Polly after I was hired to be the AV Media Specialist for the Duxbury Schools. Her husband Tom was the Assistant Superintendent when I was hired in 1973. From that time on I would frequently see Polly at many school and town functions. We would chat and she would tell me about her children. She was always so pleasant and kind. Such a wonderful lady. She will be missed by her family and friends.
