Obituary of Gerard A. Tousignant

Gerard A. (Jerry) Tousignant, at age 90, died on December 22, 2024 in Manchester, NH.

He was born in Franklin NH, one of 11 children, graduated from Jamacia Plain High School in Boston, and proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War prior to marrying his wife Susanne C. (Milkey) Tousignant. Jerry retired as a Plant Manager for International Accessories, producing USA manufactured quality leather goods and accessories, proud to specialize in custom police, fire fighter, and first responder goods. He was a family man, surrogate father to many, and was always the go-to-man when friends and family needed someone to help out and lend a hand.  Having been in the Navy learning many skills, he was quite talented at many things, there was no shortage of Jerry fixing something, or doing the much-needed home maintenance for himself, his family, and his friends.

Jerry lived most of his life in Boston and Plymouth with his wife and children, Carol Rudick of Weymouth MA, James Tousignant of Quincy, MA, John Tousignant of Goffstown, NH, Diane Peters of Braintree, MA, Daniel Tousignant of Gilford, NH, and Robert Tousignant of Plymouth MA, eventually moving back to NH after the passing of his wife.  He is survived by his 6 children, his brothers Leon Tousignant, Paul Tousignant, sister's Ursula Van Ryzin, and Lorraine Dudley, his 14 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren..

Visitng hours will be held on Monday, December 30th from 9-10:30 AM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St (Rt. 58) Carver, with a funeral mass to take place at 11:00 AM at St. Kateri Church, 126 South Meadow Road, Plymouth.

Cemetery service will follow as Mr. Tousignant will be laid to rest with military honors at the MA National cemetery in Bourne at 1:30 PM. 

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice, the American Veterans or Veterans of Foreign Wars.
