Neil R Kosak
Neil Kosak of Duxbury, MA, was born on March 3, 1958. He passed away on December 16, 2024 at the age of 66.
Neil was a devoted son, husband, father, and brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Susanne Bloom, his brothers Doug, Peter, Chuck and sister Nancy, and his children Elizabeth, Jack, and Emily.
He attended Duxbury High School, class of 1976, and received degrees in English from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, architecture from the Boston Architectural College, and nursing from Quincy College. The highlights of his career were accomplished at the Boston Phoenix, with the architects at Perry Dean Rogers in Boston, and as an RN at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. That span reflects his terrific range of creativity, intellect, and compassion.
All who knew and loved Neil were impacted by his infectious passion for music – all genres, and especially jazz – and art. His original drawings were creative magic. And humor: perhaps one of the most offbeat and original senses of humor one could imagine. Making people laugh brought him joy. The one-liners endure and delight.
Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St., Kingston, on Saturday December 21, from 10AM to Noon, followed by Interment in Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury.
The family would like to thank everyone for thoughts and well-wishes.
In lieu of flowers, all donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
