Scott J. DeSantis of Kingston died peacefully on August 30, 2024, at the age of 65, Scott was the beloved husband of Marie DeSantis and the loving father of Derek (Lauren), Danny (Sydney) and Paul DeSantis. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Grayson, Jake, Kaylee, Luke, and Sophie. He also leaves behind his faithful companion, Kenny, his maltipoo puppy. Scott is the son of the late Henry DeSantis and Kathleen DeSantis. He is survived by his stepmother, Helen DeSantis as well as his sister Kathleen and half-brother, David. Scott is predeceased by his brother, Eric. He was also the beloved husband of the late Kathleen (Lyons) DeSantis. Scott leaves behind many extended family members.

Scott grew up in Waltham and spent many hours at the Boys and Girls Club of Waltham where he learned “not to suck at anything”. He graduated from Norwell High School, class of 1977. Scott’s 1976 baseball team was recently inducted into the Norwell High School Athletic Hall of Fame class of 2022. After High School, Scott married his High School sweetheart, Kathleen Lyons, then raised their three sons in Pembroke where Scott was active in coaching his sons little league baseball teams. Scott later found love again when he met his current wife, Marie. They married in 2015.

Scott was a long-time assessor for the city of Taunton. He served on the elected Board of Assessors in the towns of Pembroke and Kingston, where he currently served.

Scott was a simple man, he enjoyed watching and playing golf, Pizzeria Regina, Popponesset, the Godfather movies, Seinfeld and Columbo. Scott also loved chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. Above all, Scott loved his family. He was so proud of the men his sons became and proud to be Poppy to his grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. Kingston, MA on Monday September 16th from 4 to 8pm. Funeral services at the Shepherd Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 17th at 11am.
