Obituary of Paul D. Sullivan
Paul D. Sullivan of Middleboro passed away on April 23, 2022at the age of 69. He was born on September 17, 1952 in Bostonto Daniel P. Sullivan and Eleanor Sullivan (nèe Hassett). Paul graduated from Randolph High School class of 1970 and received a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement from Western New England College class of 1999.
He began working with the Massachusetts State Police in 1978 and retired a Lieutenant and as the Chief of Staff in 2005. In 1990 he received a Departmental Commendation for his attention to duty after he apprehended a kidnapping suspect in Duxbury. In August of 2000 he was promoted to the grade of Lieutenant for his competence, diligence and integrity as a Massachusetts State Police Officer. He also served as the President of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (“CVSA”)from 2001-2003. After retirement Paul worked for the Federal Highway Administration in Washington, D.C. until 2008. Most recently he served as the Regional Director of Field Operations for PrePass Safety Alliance and as a Vice President for National Transportation Consultants.
Paul loved golf, traveling, Boston sports and most of all, spending time with his family.
Paul is survived by Jeanne, his wife of 47 years, his daughter Annie DiMare and her husband Jay of North Attleboro, his son Paul and his wife Linna of Plympton and his beloved grandchildren, Ben and Sam. He is also survived by his brother Daniel Sullivan of Holbrook and his brother Barry Sullivan of Avon and their spouses as well as many cousins, their children and grandchildren whom he loved very much.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Shepherd Funeral Home in Kingston, MA. A funeral service will be held Friday, April 29, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. also at Shepherd Funeral Home in Kingston.
