Obituary of Michael F. Poirier

Please share a memory of Michael F. to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Michael F. Poirier, 50, Lifelong resident of Carver, passed away on January 6, 2021 after a fierce and courageous fight against Pancreatic Cancer.

He is survived by his wife Cherie Poirier, son Joseph Poirier, and daughter Alexia Poirier.  Mike was the son of late Francis Poirier and survived by his mother, Janice Poirier, his sisters, Michelle Alves, Jean Hansen, and Crystal Pina, his two half sisters, Joanne and Susan, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephew, and countless close friends he called family.

He was last employed as a CDL driver for P.A. Landers.  Mike was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting.  He loved our annual camping trips and kayaking.  He was happiest when with family.  Mike was a devoted husband and proud dad. Mike will be remembered by many as never backing down from a challenge or dare and enjoyed making others laugh.  He was very generous with his time with friends and family alike and would help anyone in need.

Special thanks to: All of his friends and family that helped support Mike and his family during the last several months.  Additionally, Dana Farber and South Shore Hospital, all the doctors and nurses who advocated for every resource to give him more time; and to Beacon Hospice for their comfort and support.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, January 14th from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main Street in Carver.  In lieu of a funeral service there will be a Celebration of Life held for Mike in June.
