Obituary of Jennifer Benedict

Please share a memory of Jennifer to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jennifer Benedict, 74, formerly of Duxbury, died at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Plymouth, MA, on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, following a long illness.  Jennifer is survived by her beloved son, Alexander Kominski and his wife Brenda, Kingston MA, her two sisters Susan B. Robinson-Collis of Worcester NY and Catherine A. Kelleher of Duxbury MA, two grandchildren Paige and Addison Kominski of Kingston, nieces Beth Robinson Cain of Worcester NY, Jill Robinson Spivak of Potomac MD, Patricia Kelleher Williams of Oklahoma City OK, Lauren Trivellini of Weymouth MA, and nephew John M. Kelleher of Worcester MA; and many grand-nieces and nephews.  Jennifer was predeceased by her first husband, Ronald L. Kominski.

Jennifer was born in Batavia NY on May 13, 1946, the eldest daughter of John L. and Audrey I. (Reynolds) Benedict.  As a young woman, she enjoyed traveling and worked for many years as a stewardess for United Airlines. Jennifer was fluent in Italian and lived in Milan, Italy, for five years with her husband Ron. While there, her artwork was recognized by the community and displayed at multiple art shows and in several galleries.  She will be most fondly remembered for her gracious demeanor, her twinkling blue eyes and the beautiful smile which lit up her face.  She created beauty in her home, particularly through her gift of artistry manifested in her paintings and her culinary skills. Entertaining delighted her and was elevated to an artform for those who were fortunate to savor her creations.  Jennifer was extremely proud of her son Alex who, along with her granddaughters Paige and Addie, brought the most joy into her life.

The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff at Bay Path Nursing Home, the nurses and doctors at BID Plymouth, and to Cranberry Hospice for the loving care they provided to Jennifer throughout her illness.

Family and close friends will gather privately to celebrate Jennifer’s life.
