PANTAZOPOULOS, Hercules “Pete” (89) of Pembroke passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, August 5, 2018, surrounded by his family.  

Hercules was a World War II Veteran of the US Navy and a Korean War Veteran of the US Army, where he served in the 82nd Airborne, First Calvary Division.  He served on the front lines in Korea where he received 2 Purple Hearts and numerous awards and commendations.  

Husband of the late Claudia (Nagle) Pantazopoulos, brother of the late Sophia Sorofman, Helen Queen, Anastasia “Tess” Poulos, father of Rhea Pantazopoulos, Margaret Lupinski, Mary Quill, Irene Barbera, Phyllis MacPherson, and Peter Pantazopoulos, grandfather of the late Geoffrey Quill, Greggory and Amy Quill, Alissa and Aaron Nemzer, Peter Pantazopoulos, John MacPherson and Laura Lupinski.  

His was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors. He was a devoted family man who lived his life with discipline, a strong work ethic and passion.  He was adored by his family and will be sorely missed.  

 Visiting Hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St. Pembroke on Sunday, August 12, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 13, at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Hanson at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Center Cemetery in Pembroke.
