Robert A. Orr, 53 years old, of Carver and Readfield, Maine died unexpectedly on February 8, 2011. Beloved husband of Janet M. (MacLellan) Orr of Readfield, Maine. He was born in Abington and moved to Carver at the age of 13. Son of the late Carver Chief of Police, Thomas S. Orr and Emma (Palmer) Orr of Plymouth. For over 33 years, he was employed by the Massachusetts Laborers Union, Local 721. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 40, Winthrop, Maine. He was the loving father of Jennifer Orr of New Bedford, Robert Orr and his wife Christine of Plymouth, Daniel Orr of Plymouth, stepson, Richard Barisano of Brockton, and his dog, *Beau*. He is the grandfather of Derick, Alisha, Devin, and Kendra, all of Massachusetts. He is the brother of Sgt. Raymond Orr and his wife Christine of Carver, Marie Ledwith and her husband Frank of Marion, Richard Orr and his wife Misty of Foxborough, Nancy Orr of Portland, Maine, Regina Young and her husband Burton of Plymouth, and John Orr of Kingston. He is the brother in-law to Theresa Roberts of Middleboro, Robert MacLellan and his wife Joanne of Stoughton, and William MacLellan of Readfield, Maine. He has 21 nieces and nephews. Memorial visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 21st, from 4-7pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main Street (RT 58), Carver, with a memorial service set to begin at 6:00pm. A charity account for Janet Orr has been set up at Savings Bank of Maine. Those who wish to donate in lieu of flowers may do so by mailing a check to Savings Bank of Maine, Attn: Katherine Weymouth, 13 Winthrop Road, Readfield, ME 04355-3350. Please be sure to include "ORR FUND" in check memo.
