Eva May (Wellington) Glover passed away peacefully at Bay Path Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Duxbury,MA on Friday, February 4, 2011 just 3 days shy of her 99th birthday. She was the devoted wife of the late John G. Glover and is survived by her 4 children: Harlan of Englewood, FL and Shapleigh, ME, Stephen of Duxbury, MA, J. Duncan of Norfolk, MA, and Susan of Kingston, MA. She also leaves 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Eva was born in Somerville, MA, graduated from Melrose High School and went on to attend Simmons College in Boston. She lived with her family in Greenwood,MA for many years before moving to Hingham, and then to Duxbury. Eva was a loving homemaker for all of her life and also found time to teach in the adult educational programs of the Hingham and Abington school systems sharing her talents of rug braiding, hooking, and needle point. Eva continued her love of handwork well into her nineties to the delight of her family and friends.She was a faithful congregant and recognized as the oldest member of the Mayflower Congregational Church of Kingston. The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to the staff of Bay Path for the loving care and support shown to Eva for the past several years. The funeral service will be held at the Mayflower Congregational Church, 207 Main St., Kingston, MA 02364 on Saturday, February 12 at 11AM. Contributions in Eva’s memory may be made to the Mayflower Church.
