Helen (Quirk) Johnson, age 92, of Duxbury, passed peacefully on February 3, 2011. She was the beloved wife of 54 years of the late Walter Johnson. Loving mother of Peter Johnson of Pembroke, Catherine Breen and her husband William of Duxbury and Helen Virga and her husband Charles of Brockton. Gram will be forever loved and missed by her grandchildren Matthew Breen and his wife MaryAnn, Peter Breen and his wife Nicole, Benjamin Virga and his wife Kristin, and Katherine and Elizabeth Virga. Helen’s seven great grandchildren, Kaitlin, Kirsten and John Breen, Tyler and Avery Breen and Hadley and Maya Gearin Virga will miss their Gramgram. Dear sister of the late Thomas, John and Edward Quirk and Katherine Goodwin. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. She will remain in their hearts as a loving, compassionate, thoughtful and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Helen was born in East Weymouth and worked as a nurse at South Shore Hospital and Pope Nursing Home. Donations may be made to Miramar Retreat Center, 121 Parks St, Duxbury, MA 02332. A memorial service will be conducted and announced at a later date.
